We see no path towards ending the HIV epidemic in the United States without addressing the need for safe, appropriate, & affordable housing for people at-risk and diagnosed with HIV.

Prevention & Testing
- PrEP for at high risk priority populations experiencing homelessness.
- When persons come in for an HIV test, assess their housing status.
- Connect at high risk priority populations experiencing homelessness to housing programs within HUD.

After Diagnosis
Within 3 days, ensure the newly diagnosed individual is connected to housing through one of the funding streams:
- Ryan White funds can be used for up to 24 months for emergency and temporary housing.
- HOPWA funds for emergency through permanent supportive housing.
- HUD programs (i.e. Homeless Assistance Program, Housing Choice Vouchers).

Long-Term Support
- HOPWA funds for TBRA, STRMU, PHP, and supportive services
- Housing Choice Vouchers and other HUD programs for PLWHA who don’t need supportive services.
- Medicare/Medicaid for aging populations
- Work with higher-functioning clients to become self-sufficient
